Well done to year 5 and 6 pupils who took part in the Annual Wyre Forest Cross Country event at Stourport Memorial Park this morning. This usually takes place at a different venue but due to weather conditions was changed last minute, it was a great venue though and the event was fantastic as it is every year.
All the children who took part gave the 2km course their all and we are so proud of their achievements. Some pupils were taking part for the first time, others who have participated in the event in previous years improved their placing which is brilliant.
A special mention to Will and Morgan who, by finishing in 5th and 6th place in the year 6 boys race, have qualified for the county stage of the event.
Thanks you to all who came along to support, it was lovely to see you there.

Welcome back to the second half of the Autumn term - an exciting and busy time of the year for us all. Please check the calendar dates for all the upcoming events in November and December.
We begin with a period of reflection and remembrance leading to Monday 11th November where at 11am we will gather to remember those who serve to defend our democratic freedoms and way and marks the day World War One ended.
The Royal British Legion have provided the school with Poppies and snap bands that the pupils can purchase. All funds donated will be go towards the great work provided by this charity.
November is also the month where in all schools we celebrate and support Children in Need. On Friday 15th November our pupils will have the opportunity to come to school in their own clothes and purchase a Pudsey wristband to wear.
Also taking place on this day is the Cross Country event at St Anne’s for pupils in Year 5 and 6. We wish all pupils all the best.
With our Key Stage 2 RE trip taking place on 18th and 20th November our pupils will gain an invaluable experience when they visit the Synagogue in Birmingham. A wonderful opportunity which will enhance our pupils understanding and knowledge.
Our school curriculum intent is to ensure all our pupils experience a range of learning opportunities and none more so than our Blooms Workshops Week that took place before half term. Each Blooms level is linked to a British Icon and our pupils were able to develop their understanding of each icon and key skills. I would like to say a huge thank you to all our pupils, staff and parents who supported this event in school. Thank you Mrs Harrison!
As we approach the festive period of the school year; staff will write to parents with details of each year group/ key stage performances in December. Get ready to be humming traditional and new songs in your sleep!
Our PTA are in the midst of organising a host of Christmas events including a Christmas Fayre which will take place on Friday 13th December. All details will be shared in the coming days but I know all our families will come together to support the pupils of our school.

Bloom's British Icon Workshops
Coming up this week we have our Bloom's British Icon morning workshops for all our pupils across the school. The whole school has been divided into 6 groups and will have an opportunity to take part in the 6 workshops over the 3 mornings.
Pupils know which group they are in and know when they need to come to school ready in their PE kits for the Mo Farah Workshop (don't worry we will text parents when your child needs to come to school in their PE kit)
Parents are invited to join me during our learning walk on Wednesday 23rd October from 9am - 10am. Photographs will be posted on the school website and on both Twitter and Instagram.
We can't wait!
A call has gone out for schools to join a fund-raiser for potentially life-saving treatment for Oscar Saxelby-Lee. Oscar’s school in Worcester has asked all schools to hold an ‘Oscar Day’ with pupils wearing non-uniform day for a £1-per-person donation. The major fund-raising drive was launched after it was discovered the brave five-year-old’s cancer had returned just months after successful stem-cell treatment. We will holding our ‘Oscar Day’ on Thursday 24th October.
As we aiming to become a ‘cash-less school’ we would urge anyone that is able to make their donation directly. Visit https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com or https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/Team/HandinHandforOscar and search for Hand in Hand for Oscar for more information.
