Welcome to the Robins Page.

This year has seen the creation of a new classroom to accommodate our new pure Year One class! There are twenty-one children in Robins Class this year, along with Mrs. Cadwallader (Teaching Assistant) Mr. McDonnell (Teaching Assistant), Mrs. Hunt (Year One Volunteer) and myself, Miss White (Class Teacher). We also have Miss Harrold, who loves us so much she decided to come back after her college placement finished!  We are all looking forward to a happy and successful year in Year One, bringing together all of the different interests, ideas and personalities to create an enriching learning journey.

Our theme for this term will be 'HALT! Who Goes There?!', a curriculum exploring the history of castles and the people who lived in them. Our topic will link heavily with the History and Geography curriculum for Year One.

We will be looking at three books to base our learning journey on:

• 'How to be a Knight' by Sir Geoffrey de Lance,
• 100 Facts on Knights and Castles' by Jane Walker,
• 'King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table' by Marcia Williams.

These texts will feature across all areas of the Year One curriculum this term; linking the children's learning together so they can apply their new skills in a range of contexts.
