Summer Term

Extreme Earth

Our Summer term will begin with a topic about earthquakes, volcanoes, tornadoes and tsunamis  where we will look at how the world is made and what happens on land as the materials move and change over time.

We will be reading many non fiction  books about earthquakes and volcanoes and our fiction text will be  Escape from Pompeii by Christina Balit,and our poetry focus will be Poetry Pie Roger McGough, We will use these texts as a resource to stimulate our writing this term.  We will be reviewing our maths knowledge so far and will commence the term continuing with our learning of fractions. 

We will continue of course learning all the times tables up to 12 x 12 as we prepare for the MTC. Our times table knowledge and skills are developed as we learn these through song and games. 

Science, Music and PE will be taught by Mrs Churchard on a Friday.

Our RE topic is to discover what the Trinity is and question why it is so important to Christians. .Our  PSHE will be focusing on friendships. .  This term's Spanish will focus on revising the days of the week and the months of the year and learning the names of different animals -  with a focus on adding adjectives and plurals.

Forest School will take place every Wednesday where the children have the opportunity to follow their own ideas and initiative and be creative through play and adventure, independently, in pairs, small groups and larger groups.
