We are looking with a geographical focus at The Amazon / Rainforests this half term
Below is a list of our main focus in some of our curriculum areas:
Class texts
Our class text for the summer term will be Holes by Louis Sachar.
Another text we plan to read extracts from is Kensuke’s Kingdom by Michael Morpurgo.
If children would like to purchase and bring their own copies of the texts to school, it may help them engage with the learning, but extracts will always be given to them where required.
We do ask that parents encourage children to read every night and that children still read with an adult regularly (even just a couple of pages). Also, knowing their times tables by heart really helps with their maths learning and TT Rockstars every day helps keep this knowledge up to speed.
We are looking with an historical focus on the Ancient Greeks this half term and will even be designing and making Ancient Greek vases from modelling clay.
Other curriculum areas will look at:

Science sessions will focus on Earth and Space.
If children would like to purchase and bring their own copies of the texts to school, it may help them engage with the learning, but extracts will always be given to them where required.
