We are excited to offer an outdoor survival experience to all key stage two children, as part of our Friday morning rotation. Here we are familiarising ourselves with the forest school site and learning some bush skills. We have also explored how to safely light and manage an open fire.
We had a fantastic week toasting marshmellows and making a sink and drainer for all the children to use in forest school.
Woodpeckers have enjoyed their Sherwood Forest experience. We had cooked bananas on the fire and lead a friend around wearing a blindfold to explore the outdoors.
We toasted marshmellows over the open fire and made lots of dens.
Kingfishers enjoyed exploring the forest school site and building dens. we also made a poster identifying the site rules.
Kingfishers developed their forest school skills making a long bow, learnt how to safely light a fire and made a tree cookie name disc.
Look at our amazing natural art work.
We used our senses to emerse ourselves in forest school, we then used our ideas in a poem.
