Welcome to Robins! We hope you all had a wonderful summer. Our topic this term is called ‘Fire Fire!’ During this topic, we will be learning all about The Great Fire of London. Through a cross curricular approach, the children will be identifying the similarities and differences of London today, compared to 1666. As well as exploring The Great Fire of London, we shall be learning about Guy Fawkes and why bonfire night is celebrated. Through PSHE, we will be focusing on the importance of fire safety and how to stay safe around fireworks.
Robins are timetabled for PE every Tuesday and Thursday morning. The children will need their PE kit in school, including appropriate footwear and warmer clothing for when the weather gets colder
Homework will be given out on a Thursday. Children will have the opportunity on a Friday to ask me any questions they have regarding their homework. Monday lunchtimes are available for children to complete their homework if needed and homework will be collected on the Tuesday. Maths and English homework will alternate weekly. Reading books will be changed on Mondays and Thursdays. Spellings will go home on a Friday to practise, ready for a spelling test the following Friday
Robins will continue to have forest school on Thursday afternoons starting 7th November. They will need wellies which should be kept in school if possible and to come to school wearing suitable clothing for outdoor activities.
