Homework
Maths homework will be set each Thursday to be returned to school by the next Monday please. The homework will be based on work we are covering in lessons that week and will be explained to the children before they bring it home.
Multiplication tables willl be an ongoing focus, please practise these whenever possible, even just 2 minute quick challenges each day is helpful.
English Skills homework will be set each Monday to be returned on the Friday. This will obviously focus on spelling but also grammar and punctuation. Children will be given spellings to learn and they will be asked to then choose a number of those spellings to put into sentences. This way they will be thinking about the meaning of the words by putting them into a context, as well as learning how to spell them. Our aim is to improve skills and challenge the use of higher level skills.
When the children read at home, whether it be to you or indpendently, please could you sign the reading record to show they have read.
