Timetable

Nursery Timetable

Throughout the week nursery children will take part in many different
activities.
This half term our timetable is as follows, any changes to this you will be

informed via Seesaw.
Monday- Forest school PM
Tuesday- Music and Peer Massage
Wednesday- Forest school with Hedgehogs PM

Thursday- Yoga AM
Friday- PE AM and Welly Walk PM

Maths-
Each day in nursery we have a whole class maths session. We revisit numbers
we’ve learnt with ‘Tap on the Box’, this is a fun and exciting way for children to
be involved in their learning. The children also have the opportunity to come up
and use the interactive whiteboard to 1:1 count, practice their number
formation and feed the shape monster new shapes. We end this session with a
traditional nursery rhyme that the children enjoy joining in with, our favourite
is 5 little ducks.

Phonics-
In nursery we also have a whole class phonics session. This looks different every
day and will cover a range of skills from Phase 1, from sharing a whole class
story and learning new vocabulary, learning what their initial sound of their
name is and working towards writing letters of their name, sounding and
blending words, rhythm and rhyme and counting syllables in words. Next half
term we will be introducing Phase 2 following Floppy Phonics learning scheme.

Yoga-
Each week in nursery the children take part in Yoga in the main hall in school
every Thursday morning. This allows the children to improve balance, strength
and independence. The children are encouraged to take their own shoes on and
off, please try and send your child into school on this day with shoes they are
able to have a go themselves.

Forest School-
Forest school is a great opportunity for the children to discover different ways
of learning, it promotes independence, gross motor skills and allows them to
explore with nature. On a Monday and Wednesday could you please send your
children into school in old clothes that you do not mind getting muddy. Also
please ensure they have wellies and a puddle suit in school.

Peer Massage-
This is a time for the children to unwind and relax to a massage given from their
peers. This promotes and reminds the children about gentle hands and to always
ask permission before we touch. The children join in, in a sequence of routine
actions on their peers back, allowing them to enjoy and receive this from one
another.

PE-
During this term we will be introducing PE to the children in Nursery on Friday
mornings where we will be focusing on ball skills, developing throwing and
catching and working on co-ordination. Please could you send your child into
nursery wearing trainers and sport appropriate footwear to make this safer for
your child. Inappropriate footwear will result in your child having to remove
socks and shoes.

Dough Disco-
Throughout the week all children will take part in Dough Disco. This is a fun and
simple exercise that will strengthen your child’s fine motor muscles to enable
them to improve their pencil grip and their mark making which in turn will help
prepare them for writing.

Music
In music we play and turn take with different instruments, listening to what
sound it makes and compare this to other sounds. The children love singing
nursery rhymes and learning new patterns of sounds.
