This term our History topic is The Romans. Already some children have brought books etc into school to share with the class, this is always valuable as it supports their work about the topic. 

PE lessons this term have changed a little. We still do outdoor PE on a Tuesday morning, this half term we are focusing on hockey. Warm clothes - joggers, sweatshirts, gloves, are very useful while the weather is cold. 
Now that Woodpeckers have finished their swimming lessons for the year our other PE lesson is on a Monday afternoon instead of a Thursday afternoon. This half term we are being very energetic developing our cheerleading skills (as part of the dance curriculum). So far the children are really enjoying this.
Please encourage your children to bring water bottles for the above lessons.

Spelling homework will continue to be set on a Wednesday, to be returned and tested the following Tuesday.

Maths homework will now be set on a Thursday to be returned by the following Monday. We have changed this so the homework is set towards the end of the week's focus rather than the beginning giving the children more time to grasp and practise skills in school before consolidating that work with the homework.
