Our First Week in School

  • Fishy 2s The children practice counting in 2s to 20.
  • Hindu Prayer - Puja We have been learning about Hinduism and will be learning abut Diwali next week. We have made a shrine in the home corner and children have been putting on Saris and pretending to pray in the shrine. We watched this video to learn about of how Hindu's pray at home.
  • Dragon's Den The dragon's have got their eggs mixed up. Can you help them sort them out? Read the word and then decide if it is a nonsense word or a real word.
  • Pick a picture Click on the picture that matches the word. We have now finished phase 2 so children should be able to read all the words from phase 2 by sounding out the letters and blending them together
  • Jolly Phonics explained This website will really help exlain how we use the Jolly Phonics programme and the different stages we go through. Any support you can give at home with helping your child to learn the letter sounds (phonemes) and letter formation (graphemes) and then progressing onto sounding and blending words will be invaluable in helping your child to start to learn to read and write.
