In school we are using a website service called Education City. To access the site at home children will need to go on the internet and use their personal log in details (I have copies of these if children lose their own). There are lots of activities, games and tests which are all aimed at specific age and ability ranges.
To make use of this resources I have created a folder in the 'my city' section of the website for our class. Our folder is called 'Mr Price'. In the folder are activities related to what we are currently covering in lessons. Although the work set is not a replacement for homework I would advise children to use the site regularly as a way of cementing their learning.
One of the benefits of the activities is that it marks and guides children towards the right answers and explains them in clear steps if they are struggling. There are tests on the site also, which can be used to prepare children for SATS style questions or just as a means of creating a 'revision pathway'. This allows the children to focus on their target areas and to fill any gaps in their learning.
