Dear prospective parents and carers
I hope you and your family are well and that things are not too challenging for you in these uncertain and unprecedented times. As I am sure you are all too aware, we are approaching the time when you make the crucial decision of choosing the right secondary school for your son or daughter.
The current restrictions placed on us all mean that our usual Open Evenings and Open Days will not be able to run as they have previously. I do understand, however, the huge importance of visiting prospective schools, meeting staff in person and getting a ‘feel’ for the culture and ethos if you have never visited before. We have therefore decided to go ahead with a series of Open Evenings on Monday 21st , Tuesday 22nd and Wednesday 23rd of September 2020.
In order to run safely and follow Public Health guidance, these evenings will be much more streamlined and have a very different format to our usual Open Evening.
• Attendance will be by a booked appointment only; to book an appointment, please use the link below:
• Places will be limited and booked on a ‘first come first served’ basis
• There will be 3 bookable ‘slots’ per evening, each lasting 90 minutes
• Maximum of 2 people per booking (one child and an adult or 2 adults)
• Small groups will social distance throughout and receive a presentation from myself and a tour of the key areas of the school from a staff member
• Face masks will be obligatory
• Our current students will not be involved
Whilst we love showing off our wonderful school and welcoming visitors, I am sure you understand that we must operate safely and, in order to do this, we need to strictly limit numbers. I therefore urge you to consider whether your visit is necessary. If you have already made the decision to choose Wolverley for your son or daughter because you already know the school well and have previously visited or you have a sibling already with us, please allow someone who really needs to visit to inform their decision to book a place instead. I will ensure those who do not choose to visit receive all the information from the evening, including a video version of my presentation.
If you have already chosen Wolverley but have specific questions about you son or daughter’s specific needs, then please contact us via email or phone in order to arrange a time for the appropriate member of staff to discuss these with you.
Thanks for your support and understanding. I look forward to meeting you and your son or daughter should you make the decision to attend.
Yours sincerely
Bryn Thomas
