  • Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete

    Mon 04 Sep 2023

    Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete

You may have seen recent media coverage regarding Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) and its use in educational settings. The Department for Education (DfE) has recently changed its guidance to take a more precautionary approach, given the concerns about the long-term durability of RAAC and we appreciate the concern this may raise for our children and families, but want to reassure you that safety is a key priority for all of our schools.

We do not have any confirmed RAAC in our buildings and have not been asked to close any areas. However, naturally we want to take particular care around this and the Trust Estates team are currently working with the DfE and surveyors to review the construction of relevant parts of our buildings.

The change in guidance is precautionary in nature, and only affects education premises where the presence of RAAC has been confirmed.  If, at any stage, RAAC is identified, we will let parents/carers know straight away, and we have contingencies in place to prioritise the continuation of education and that the impact on children is kept to an absolute minimum.

Rest assured that the safety of children and staff is of paramount importance to all concerned.

    Thank you for your understanding.

  • Overview for Carnival Day 1st July 2023

    Thu 29 Jun 2023

Below is an overview for the Carnival on Saturday.....

Our after school Carnival Club have been busy creating the artwork for our wonderful float which will be showcased from midday on Sebright Green. The theme is 'Discovering King Tut' so children can come dressed as1920's explorers or egyptians.

Children who have signed up to travel on the float will then travel from Sebright Green (which is the field surrounded by Sebright Road, Hayes Road & Knight Road) to the Memorial hall field (opposite the school).

Please note, for health & safety reasons, only a limited number of children can travel on the float, a sign up form was sent out to all parents earlier in the week. Priority will of course be given to those children who attended the Carnival after school club.

Children who do not wish to travel on the float can meet on Sebright Green to see the float, and have their photo taken on the float if they wish, and then walk with parental/carer supervision in the procession following the float (collecting monies if they wish) to the Memorial Hall car park where the procession ends.

The fun will then continue on the field opposite the school with our PTA Tombola (a sign up sheet to volunteer your time was sent out yesterday) and with our school performances, being Maypole, Dance and Hula Hoop.

Our school's slot starts from 1.30pm, so if your child is performing please arrange to meet staff on the field from 1.15pm. Mrs Harrison for Maypole, Miss Smith for dance and Mrs Phillips for Hula Hooping (light cream gazebo). A form has been sent to the Hula hooping club today so parents can confirm attendance.

Maypole dancers can wear whatever they'd like...costume, sports kit etc, so long as they have suitable footwear on. Dance and hula need to be wearing sports or PE kit, again with suitable footwear.

We are hoping the sunny weather continues & everyone has an enjoyable day!

  • Wolverley Carnival 1st July 2023

    Mon 26 Jun 2023

If your child would like to travel on the float on Carnival Day Saturday 1st July, please consent to the form on Parentpay which will go live at 3.30pm today, Monday 26th June.

There are limited spaces due to health & safety reasons so this will be on a first come first serve basis. Unfortunately, nursery pupils will not be able to travel on the float, but can walk alongside with parental supervision. There are 65 spaces on the float. The float name is 'Discovering King Tut' so the children can come dressed as an Egyptian or 1920s explorer. If your child would like to travel on the float, they must meet staff on Sebright Green at midday on the 1st July in their costume. Parents can then collect their children from the Memorial Hall car park once the procession has concluded. If you are consenting for more than one of your children, please consent for each one separately. The form will close for submissions on 29th June.

There will be an opportunity for your child to have a photograph taken on the float, if they wish, when it is parked on Sebright Green.

If your child does not want to travel on the float, they are welcome to walk with family members in the walking procession following the float, collecting money.

Please read this carnival procession disclaimer - You understand that partaking in either travelling on the float or collecting money, you do so at your own risk.  You understand that all monies collected during the procession, are solely for Wolverley Carnival Funds and should be handed into the control tent on the Carnival field at the end of the procession. You further understand that the Wolverley Carnival Team can accept no liability in respect of personal injury as a result of partaking in the procession.

If you have any questions, please email the school office.

    Many thanks

As a Christmas treat, we have surprised the children with a visit to one of our families who, from October, create a large scale miniature Winter Wonderland. Josh Fradgley from Year 6 has invited the whole school to view his nanny’s Magical miniature Christmas Village in her home just across the road from school. Each class in turn will go with staff and spend a few moments taking in the festive creations. Look out for the photos on our social media this week.
