    NSPCC

Kia Giles from the NSPCC came into school today to speak to the children about the charity and how we could help raise funds.

Each class have been set a challenge and have been asked if they could collect sponsors. It is not a competition and Kia made it very clear that raising just £1 would make a difference.

Kia will be back on 24th February to hand out special badges to the children who have taken part.

    Educate against hate

An "Educate against hate" website has been launched by England's Education Secretary Nicky Morgan, as part of a renewed drive against extremism.

The website holds information for schools and parents.

The anti-radicalisation website promises to provide "practical advice to protect children from the dangers of extremism", with information from the government and groups such as the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC).

    It includes information on:

    §  warning signs of danger

§  how parents should talk to children about extremism

§  steps concerned parents can take

    Compliments Tree

We now have a Compliments Tree in the Key Stage 2 entrance. Each week staff and pupils can add a compliment about another member of the school.

This idea has developed from the Compliments/ Suggestions/Little Worries box that our School Council designed in school. We found there were so many compliments we decided to create the Compliments Tree to share them everyone.

When you are in school make sure you have a look - our tree is very special.
