School Updates and Latest News
The Summer Reading Challenge is taking place in all our Worcestershire Libraries over the break.
http://readingagency.org.uk/children/quick-guides/summer-reading-challenge/
Not only are we challenging children to read the 6 books by visiting their local library, we are hoping to beat the Worcestershire record for children completing the challenge and to see which of our schools achieves the highest percentage of pupils through to the end.
There are many activities taking place in individual libraries - http://www.worcestershire.gov.uk/info/20017/libraries/1058/local_library_details
We also invite all family members where the children are reading to Croome Court with free entry on 2 fun packed days -http://www.worcestershire.gov.uk/info/20017/libraries/1048/national_library_schemes/3
So to avoid the dip in reading during the holidays, point your pupils to their local libraries and compare your holiday reading to theirs in September.

Fun on the Field
Fingers crossed for dry weather this Thursday so we can enjoy Fun on the Field!!! We will keep a close eye on the forecast.
Food order tickets are being given out each morning to parents so please make sure you bring your tickets with you on the evening.
And the reviews are in...
What a fantastic display of talent - the songs, the comedy and the routines made YE-HA! a show to remember. Well done to all the pupils from Woodpeckers and Owls we are very proud of you all.
Mr Thomas, Headteacher from Wolverley Secondary School has emailed this morning and asked me to share this with the children.
Please pass on my congratulations to KS2 on their amazing performance last night. Both my daughter Eve and I were thoroughly entertained by the vast array of talent on the stage. I am really looking forward to Yr 6 moving up to Wolverley. How lucky we are to have such wonderful bunch of young people joining our school. I am sure they’ll soon be rehearsing for ‘We will Rock You’
Thank you to the staff, parents and pupils fro all their hard work.
For anyone who missed the letters concerning our KS2 performance(s), here is the key information:
-Dress rehearsal on Thursday the 9th at the Primary school.
-Final rehearsal Monday morning the 13th. Children need to meet our staff at the secondary school at 9am in their costumes.
-Performance starting at 1pm: could parents arrive no earlier than 12:45 as we will be rehearsing until this time.
-After the performance, parents who came to watch can take their children straight home in their costumes to return for the evening performance (between 6:30 and 6:45) which starts at 7pm.
-If you are not coming to watch the afternoon performance or your child is going to activity club, we will bring children back to school with us for collection at the usual time.
Thank you, for any further information do not hesitate to contact either myself or Miss Bidnell.
Just a few reminders about Sports Day this Friday.
It will take place on Mill Lane Field, beginning at 10.30 am. We have been looking at the weather forecast and it seems it might be quite warm on Friday. Please could you therefore make sure children have plenty of water to drink, caps to wear and sun cream to apply. Gazebos would be very useful, I know last year we had a few brought along for the day. If you do have one we would be grateful if you could bring it along to help with providing shade.
If the temperatures get too high on Friday afternoon we may make the decision to cut short the sports events and head back to school a little earlier than planned. If you are there supporting the children the option is still there for you to take your child/children home at this earlier time. If all goes according to plan though we aim to finish at 2.30pm.
Marloe Harrison
Just in case you haven't met Marloe Harrison yet there are some photos Mrs Harrison would like to share with you on latest news documents - so cute!
Thank You!
Thank you to everyone who supported the Wolverley Carnival on Saturday. Once the bus finally arrived the children set off on the carnival route collecting money for the local community causes.
Our Morris and Street dancers were amazing! Well done to all involved and a special thank you to Mrs Webber and Mr McDonnell who have made sure our pupils performed so well.
Thank you also to the parents who help to set up and run the Bottle Tombola Stall - once again the stall proved very popular.
