  • Easter Greetings!

    Thu 29 Mar 2018

    Week ending 29th March...

What a wonderful last week! Our pupils have worked so hard this week and enjoyed the Easter activities that have taken place in each classroom.

Our Easter Service was beautiful with songs, dedications and readings of the Easter Story. Surprises all round to Mrs King and the wonderful Mr Harris with a special rap and songs from the pyramid concert.

Back in school the Easter Cup Cake Competition was being judged by Mr Harris and pupils, parents and staff took part in the game "In for £1 in for an Easter Egg'. This has raised an amazing £233 along with donations for tea and coffee this morning money raised will buy an iPad for the children.

Thank you Xander for all your hard work in supporting the school.

Winners of the Cup Cake Competition were...

    Freddie Bayliss from Hedgehogs

    Toby Kippax from Robins

    Jacob Morgan from Squirrels

    Ava Albutt from Woodpeckers

Maisie George - Fuller from Kingfishers

  • Another Week on Planet Wolverley...

    Fri 23 Mar 2018

    Week ending 23rd March

Another full week at Wolverley Sebright. Our amazing children performed at The Town Hall as part of the The Pyramid Concert. Celebrating the 60's was the theme and all the schools that took part - St Catherine's, Cookley, St Oswalds, WCESS and ourselves treated everyone to a wonderful night of music.

We are extremely proud to have the opportunity to showcase our talented pupils in such a wonderful environment. Thank you to all our families for supporting this event and well done to our children who are superstars!

All our stars will join me today for a special Golden Table Lunch. I am currently extending the tables and finding more gold!

Pupils from Owls have again focused on developing their tag rugby skills this week. Mr McDonnell tells me the team is working well together ready for the upcoming tournament (details to follow)

The Enterprise Group from Key Stage 2 will be selling their Easter Treats today from 2.45pm. Each group has worked hard to develop their business ideas and I can't wait to get my Easter gifts later.

I must also share a beautiful photograph that one of our pupils have taken that The Kidderminster Shuttle are now using as their profile picture. It is linked to a Photograph Competition they are running.

  • The week that was...

    Fri 16 Mar 2018

    Week Beginning 12th March...

What a busy week! We had several visitors this week which has kept me very busy.

Nigel Bishop joined us on Tuesday to review the provision we have for our pupils and how we spend additional income that comes into our school. Nigel was fantastic and we shared some great ideas.

On Wednesday Mike Ion (Education Advisor from the Department of Education) came into school to hear about our school and the journey we have been on over the past five years.

All our visitors were very impressed with our school and with our amazing pupils.

Following our trip to London and The Houses of Parliament our cabinet are about to review our Behaviour Policy to see how we can make it even better!

Yesterday was another busy day - Celebration assembly was full of awards from the week including invitations to The Golden Table. I was joined by Ryan and Preston from Robins and then Macey and Emily from Woodpeckers.

Year 3 went Bell Boating with Miss Bidnell and Mr McDonnell for their second session for Bell Boating.

Next week is the Pyramid Concert - we look forward to our children taking part in this event.

  • Trip to London

    Thu 08 Mar 2018

    Trip to London

Students from five primary schools joined together to visit Tate Modern and the Houses of Parliament as part of initiative organised by Severn Academies Educational Trust.

Following a short visit to Tate Modern students followed the Thames path taking in the sights of London before spending over two hours in the Houses of Parliament, observing debates taking place in both the House of Commons and the House of Lords.

During the afternoon, students were joined by not one but indeed two of our local MPs, Mark Garnier and Nigel Huddlestone, as the schools sit in two constituencies: Stourport Primary Academy, Wilden All Saints, St Bartholomew’s and Wolverley Sebright in Wyre Forest and Hartlebury CE Primary in Mid-Worcestershire.

The visit was part of a series of events organised by Severn Academies Educational Trust which included a visit last week from Diane Hedditch, Parliament Outreach Programme, who delivered an assembly and debating sessions in three local schools involving over 200 students in years 5 and 6 in all five primary schools.

  • Teachers2Parents update

    Fri 02 Mar 2018

    Teachers2Parents

    Text Message Service

As a school, it is very important that our parents/guardians are informed of updates and changes at school in addition to the personal updates you will receive about your child’s progress and well-being.

From the week commencing Monday 5th March, the text messages you receive from school will appear differently on your phone.

Our service provider, Teachers2Parents, are excited to introduce an additional new security verification measure to allow parents/guardians to check that the messages you receive are from school.

Much like telephone banking, you will continue to receive messages from a secure number with the school message ID now in the body of the message, accompanied with a link at the beginning of the message to click through to a Teachers2Parents verification page; confirming that the sender of the message is genuine.

This added security measure is another step forward to help reassure parents/guardians of the safety and well-being of your child at school.

  • School Closure

    Thu 01 Mar 2018

    School Closure

Due to adverse conditions and the forecast that it will worsen overnight School will be closed on Friday 2nd March.

    Please keep safe and warm!

  • Police Investigation

    Thu 01 Mar 2018

    Police Investigation

On Sunday 25th February we were informed that 4 men were seen on the school property around 11.30pm.

No break-in took place - the school is fully alarmed and has CCTV cameras around the building.

However on inspection tiles had been removed and what thieves thought was lead had been taken from the tower on the roof. It was not lead but a non-lead material. The tower was covered in this many years ago.

What we would like to say is a big thank you to our wonderful neighbours who saw and reported the incident and to the police who swiftly attended the scene.

We are very proud of our school and the building that has been here since 1926.

Our message is clear... Thieves keep out and keep off our school.
