  • Fundraising Update

    Wed 11 Nov 2020

    Fundraising Update

Our children in school have decided to postpone our ‘Break the Rules/ Dare to be Different’ until Friday 20th November (when year 3 & 4 are back in school)

The majority of our pupils remarked today, we are a team and a family and therefore, we should wait until they are back.

So, I shall put my glitter wig safely away until next Friday and instead as it is Children in Need this Friday the children have suggested we have a ‘Feel good Friday’ instead. The children can come to school in their comfy, snuggly clothes (non-school uniform) and can wear their Pudsey badges or other accessories.

We have CIN pin badges available please contact the main office for further details.

  • School Update 10.11.2020

    Tue 10 Nov 2020

    10.11.2020

    Dear Parents,

Since February all of our lives have been impacted by COVID. I have spoken with families and can fully empathise and appreciate the challenges we all face. The infrastructure of our school has had to significantly change with staff and pupils supporting each other, working as an amazing team.

From staggered starts right through to the end of the school day we have imposed restrictions on the movement around our school and have implemented a range of measures to reduce the risks further. However, we are now in the second wave and second national lockdown to stem the rise in cases across our country.

Yesterday we were notified of our first confirmed case in our school. Working with Public Health England, we have carried out all necessary actions and notified the parents of pupils and staff directly affected by this news.

As a team we worked long the into evening and have resumed early this morning to provide advice, support and reassurance to those who have sought it; prepared remote learning opportunities for those directly affected; and worked hard to ensure disruption is kept to a minimum so that school is able to remain open for the other year groups. But equally as important, we are doing everything we can to keep your children and our staff safe.

    So, what next?

Our Year 3 and Year 4 pupils and the staff linked to those year groups begin a period of isolation. Only those who may have had contact need to isolate - we have informed those families and a copy of the letter we were issued from Public Health is on our website under the tab ‘Our School - COVID 19 -

Letters to parents’ - if you wish to view it. This letter outlines what each family must do and for how long.

We were able to clearly track the pupil during the one day they were in school and could confidently identify the limited areas they had visited, with the contacts linked on this day.

Due to the measures we have in place which include: regular cleaning of toilets throughout the day, the cleaning of touch spots, tables and chairs between lessons, the increased amount of time spent outside, the limited movement within the building (which is coordinated by staff and the use of walkie talkies) making sure only one class is allowed in our corridors at one time, allowing only 3 children from the class into their cloakroom at one time, recording seating plans with 1m and 2m spacing in place and playtimes spent in year zones - we were able to limit the volume of pupils and staff that may have come into contact. The rule from Public Health is - if you can’t rule them out, you must rule them. Therefore, we closed the lower key stage 2 bubble as outdoor play is taken twice a day with the two year groups. Although separate and zoned apart, if there is a slight chance contact took place, even remotely, we need to factor this in. A very cautious but necessary action, I hope you would all agree.

The remaining year groups will continue to attend school with all our protective measures still firmly in place.

In the meantime, we are working with parents and pupils who have been directly affected but if you have any queries or would like clarification on any aspect please do not hesitate to contact me. Although we are focused on the job at hand I completely understand if any family has questions or just requires further reassurance. I am happy to make time if you need me.

  • Break the Rules Day Friday 13th November 2020

    Fri 06 Nov 2020
  • Important message from Police re Covid measures being breached

    Fri 06 Nov 2020

    Dear Parents and Carers

We have had a few reports of people gathering on Wolverley Memorial park after school (parents stood talking to each other and not observing the 2 meter social distancing rule). I wondered would you be able to put a reminder to parents of the new Lockdown Covid rules please. Once they have picked up their children they should make their way home as a family unit, and not stay to chat to others. We have officers patrolling these areas and I would hate for a parent to receive a fine

    Gathering
A gathering takes place when two or more persons are present together in the same place in order: to engage in any form of social interaction with each other, or to undertake any other activity with each other

    Outdoors
No person may participate in a gathering which:
takes place in a public outdoor place and consists of more than two people, or

  • Remembrance Day 11th November 2020 / Poppies

    Wed 04 Nov 2020

    Remembrance Day 2020

Poppies are now on sale in school. If your child wishes to purchase a Poppy, please send them to school with £1. The monies will then be collected in by your child’s teacher. To avoid the children dipping into the box to collect their own poppy (as a safety measure due to Covid) the poppies will be sent to the classroom for the children.

If you have any queries or questions, please contact the school office office@wolverleysebright.worcs.sch.uk

    Many thanks
  • School Update 02.11.2020

    Mon 02 Nov 2020

    Monday 2nd November

    Dear Parents,

Thank you for your understanding and support today - we have had cleaners in since Sunday and all day today to make sure School is ready from tomorrow for our children.

I understand this is an unsettling time for many but more than ever we need to work together to reduce further disruption to our families.

We continue to follow the strict guidance set out by Public Health and the Department of Education and if/when we have a confirmed case in school we will follow their instructions and share these with parents.

The following additional measures are in place and guidance listed for families to follow:

No child should come to school if they display any COVID symptoms.

No child should come to school if a family member they live with has symptoms.

No child or adult should come to school if they are displaying COVID symptoms or awaiting the results of a test.

Please follow all COVID guidance and remain isolated for the recommended period.

Please seek medical advice if you are uncertain about your child or a person in contact with your child.

    In addition:

    1. Staggered start and end times will continue - please keep to these times.

    2. Face masks/shields to be worn at drop off and collection times by parents and staff.

    3. Older children are encouraged to arrive and leave school without an adult. Only one person can bring children to school.

    4. Parents are to contact staff via email or telephone and are to avoid conversations longer than 10 minutes outside.

    5. Children are to only bring essential items to school and avoid items that are not regularly needed.

    6. Children in Key Stage 2 should come to school in PE kit unless instructed otherwise.

    7. Children remain in smaller bubbles at all times.

    8. A full time cleaner is on site throughout the school day with additional cleaners in after school to reduce further risks in school.

    9. Any visitor to school  must follow our COVID Visitor guidance at all times.

    10. Regular updates will be provided to families.
