Reading in Nursery
Bedtime Stories
Welcome to our bedtime stories initiative.
As a school we value reading highly as we see a direct link with progress and how it can enhance vocabulary.
In Nursery your child will receive a folder containing a reading record for you to note down how much your child enjoyed and engaged in the story, you can also include any additional stories that you have read at home together during the week and a story book in which your child has chosen out of the story tree themselves with help from a member of staff. We will read them the title and blurb so they have an insight of what the story is going to be about, this also helps them learn different parts of the book which is a Development Matters outcome. Every story that your child reads at home, they will receive a sticker on our bedtime story board.
Books will be changed once a week in nursery on Mondays and Fridays, depending on when your child attends nursery.
