A Great start to the New Year...
During our first week back a group of pupils attended a trip organised by SAET to the Think Tank in Birmingham. The pupils from year 6 explored Genetics and DNA.
On Wednesday the whole school were treated to the pantomime Dick Whittington. Due to the snow before Christmas this was postponed but worth the wait. Lots of giggles from the hall.
Key Stage 2 began their Friday morning activities (we are asking pupils for a catchy name for this) with Forest School, Home Economics and our Healthy Minds/ Healthy Bodies taking place. Check website pages fro more details.
Golden Table returned with Oliver and Charlie from Hedgehogs joining me for lunch followed by Trinity and Charlotte. Well done!
Our value this month is Liberty - the freedom to express and respect others.
Our CEL is Kelly the Hen who keeps on trying.
Clubs start back from 15th January (apart from running and art club due to parents evening)
Parents Evening - Wednesday 17th and Thursday 18th January. Please check at the office for times if you are unsure.
Christmas Play
Due to school closures back in December the Key Stage 1 Christmas Play was postponed. We are very fortunate that WCESS have arranged that we can use their stage on Thursday 25th January from 1pm.
The Children will be transported to the high school after lunch and will perform their dress rehearsal to Key Stage 2 and Hedgehogs. Once we have left the children will have a snack and get ready for the 4.15pm performance for family and friends.
Further details will be shared with Robins and Squirrels in the coming weeks.
Happy New Year!
Welcome back to the new school year and 2018!
We hope you all had a magical Christmas and are looking forward to the year ahead.
Our 'In the Loop' newsletter will be out by the end of the week and please note the list of clubs that will begin week beginning 15th January.
Upcoming events have been posted on the school calendar and will appear on the newsletter.
Please use the school website for all dates and not the school app. This is currently not in use by the school due to updates within the app company.
Thank You!
All staff and governors would like to thank our amazing parents and pupils for their patience and understanding this week.
Despite our best efforts and hard work the whole week did not go to plan.
However, as always we have arrived at the end of another fantastic term. We are extremely proud of our pupils and thank them for making our school so special.
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year!
Carol Concert
Thursday 14th December
It is with regret that we need to postpone our carol concert in church this evening. The surrounding routes into church are thick ice. Added to which the poorly lit car park will be hazardous this evening.
We are all really upset as this week has not gone to plan.
This afternoon the children will perform carols from 2.30pm - 3.00pm on the top playground and we will arrange a night of celebration in the new year to make up for any disappointment.
School Update
Start of the day
Back to normal tomorrow but registrations will be extended to support any issues parents may face in the morning.
Christmas Lunches
Christmas lunch will be available for our children tomorrow. Please inform Mrs Hackett if there are any changes tomorrow morning by 9.30am.
Key Stage 2 Carol Concert
Fingers crossed if the thaw continues and conditions improve the children will be able to rehearse in church tomorrow afternoon ready for tomorrow evening.
Confirmation will be issued tomorrow.
Staff are eager for me to stress that with limited rehearsal time children will be issued with song words for some songs. I know you will all agree our children are always amazing and we look forward to dusting off the snow and celebrating Christmas in church together.
Nursery Christmas Play
If you would like your child to watch their sibling in church tomorrow morning please take them straight there. If you haven't already please confirm in the office that your child will be late into school. We will not be taking any children over to the church.
Please return your child to school and sign in via the main office once the performance has finished.
Early Bird & Activity Club
Both Early Bird and Activity Club will be available again on Thursday.
School Update!
Pathways outside school still pose a serious threat. Compacted ice has made the conditions very slippy. Please take care when collecting children later today.
The majority of our staff were able to get into school this morning so we will be here if you need us!
Please take care!!!
Key Stage 1 Christmas Performance
Due to WCESS currently not open we have been unable to rearrange our performance this side of Christmas. Once we can confirm a new date for January we will inform all parents.
Key Stage 2 Carol Concert
A decision as to whether this still goes ahead tomorrow evening will be made tomorrow. We hope the surrounding snowy and icy pathways to and around the church improve significantly. As this is an evening performance we must assess if the area is safe to park and access at night.
Christmas Lunch
We will go ahead with Christmas lunch for those pupils able to get to school tomorrow. If your child has paid for a lunch but is absent tomorrow they will be given a full refund.
Early Bird and Activity Club
Please contact the staff at the nursery for further details.
Registration tomorrow
School will be open from 9am tomorrow but registrations will not close until 10am. This extended and staggered start will hopefully help those driving to us as parking is very limited until the snow clears.
Again please be mindful of the condition of the untreated pathways. If you make the journey in take care and allow for extra time.
School Updates!
Roads
Roads around school are clear
Pathways
Compacted ice on all surrounding pathways
Parking
The Memorial Hall car park has not been cleared and is still covered in snow.
Lunches
There will be no school lunches on today. Christmas lunch has been moved to Thursday 14th December.
Advice
Please take into consideration the condition of the pathways outside of school. The limited parking nearby.
We are here if you need us!
