  • Countdown to Christmas...

    Tue 18 Dec 2018

    Christmas Week

The Christmas Countdown has begun at Wolverley Sebright.

Our wonderful pupils in Robins and Squirrels performed The Nativity twice at Wolverley Secondary School yesterday. All singers and narrators were outstanding! They even taught me how to floss!

Coming up today we have Hedgehogs performing at St. John's Church. Our youngest children can't wait until they perform their version of The Nativity.

On Wednesday some of our Key Stage 2 pupils will perform at The Nightingales Rest Home singing carols from their upcoming Carol Concert, which takes place in St Johns Church on Thursday evening

Also on Thursday we serve up Christmas Lunch and finally on Friday after the class Christmas parties our children will be visited by a VIP who I hear will leave his sledge on our roof!!!

What an exciting and wonderful time in School to be had by all. We must say a special thank you to all our families for their support and kindness especially our PTA who have been busy selling raffle tickets (you still have time to purchase tickets before the big draw on Friday)

From all the staff and governors of Wolverley Sebright we wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

  • Fundraising - THANK YOU!

    Fri 23 Nov 2018

Over the past few months the families have been busy supporting three very important charities, NSPCC, Children in Need and Macmillan.

    NSPCC

On behalf of the NSPCC thank you for your recent support. By raising the wonderful sum of £925.70, you've made sure that the NSPCC can be there to help even more children who desperately need us.

    Children in Need

Last week pupils came to school in non-school uniform and brought Pudsey badges. In total with donations the pupils raised £214.00 - thank you!

    Macmillan Coffee Morning

On the last day of half term following our Harvest Festival we held the Macmillan Coffee Morning in school. From donations received we were able to send off a final total of £158.00 to this charity.

  • KS2 Cross Country

    Mon 19 Nov 2018 A Churchard

A massive well done to all the Year 5 and 6 children who took part in the 'Annual KS2 Wyre Forest Cross Country Event'.

All children performed with a great, positive attitude and should be proud of themselves - we are certainly proud of them. There were between 130 and 160 participants in each race so it was a big event. Thank you to all the children who took part and thank you to the parents who came along to support.

    What a busy week!

Well what a busy week - bikability, Football, Hockey and Cross Country tomorrow; our pupils in Key Stage 2 have represented our school with great attitude and excellent sportsmanship.

Well done and Good luck to everyone taking part in the Cross Country on Friday!

    Parliament Elections

We held our Parliament elections before half term with Callum Hartridge elected Prime Minister. Working with Callum to organise his cabinet and start the new manifesto will be his deputy leaders:

Ossie Doyle - Deputy Leader for Early Years

Daniel Hanlon - Deputy Leader for Key Stage 1

Martha Clarke - Deputy Leader for Lower Key Stage 2

I am so proud of all the children who have put themselves forward to help shape the school's further development. Pupil Voice is vital and so important. Cabinet members will join next week following a reshuffle.

    Nearly There...

As we approach the final week of this half term we reflect on what has been covered in class and what as a school we have achieved.

Parents Evening this week provided an opportunity for pupils, parents and staff to celebrate so many outstanding achievements.

Our amazing Year 6 in Owls are working so hard. It is a pleasure to see how mature and disciplined they are - role models to everyone!

Hedgehogs are settled into school life so well - check out the wonderful pictures taken this term below.

The School Council have been selected and we can't wait to get started on making a difference.

The new Prime Minister will be revealed on Monday - their first task is to establish a new cabinet and draft their manifesto.

With a diary full of sporting events, trips and exciting curriculum activities in the countdown to Christmas - the next half term is looking busy but filled with fun!

  • Flu Spray 14th Jan 2018

    Wed 17 Oct 2018

The School nurses team have advised that the Department of Health have confirmed that the flu season goes on until March and so our school's booking for 14th January is not too late for our children to have the spray. The team have so many schools in the County to work through they are not able to see us any sooner to administer the spray to our children in years Reception to 5. Doctors surgeries do not administer the nasal spray because of the lack of funding so they leave it up the schools to administer. The nurse confirmed that she will put our school on the list to contact if they receive any cancellations through. She advised that if children suffer from asthma and parents are worried, to ask again at their GP’s surgery again or parents can contact the flu team direct to ask for advice.
