Mrs Eastwood
I have sent out tonight a letter explaining that our wonderful Mrs Eastwood will be retiring at the end of this half term after 29 years working at our school.
As the letter explains it is with a very heavy heart that Mrs Eastwood is leaving us and I know that she is more than our school secretary to so many of you.
The children will be instrumental in planning and organising our thank you celebrations however we welcome all your suggestions and ideas.
Although Friday 23rd October will Mrs Eastwood's last day I know she will be in to catch up with everyone.
Houses
We have introduced the following Houses this year...
Attwood
Kingsford
Drakelow
Blakeshall
All pupils have been told which House they are in and Houses captains will be selected next week.
Welcome Back!
Welcome back to the start of the new school year and welcome to all our new pupils and their families.
We are all very excited to get started and to work hard!
All pupils look smart and are ready for the year ahead.
We have introduced Houses this year - more details and updates on the house scores can be found on the website and in school.
The children have been allocated their house and know how they can earn points for their team.
There are many ways in which you can find out what is going on in school - Monthly newsletters will be issued at the start of each month, class pages on the website are updated regularly, latest news on our blog and coming soon you will be able to download our new APP.
Please feel free to come in and see us anytime!
The Summer Reading Challenge is taking place in all our Worcestershire Libraries over the break.
http://readingagency.org.uk/children/quick-guides/summer-reading-challenge/
Not only are we challenging children to read the 6 books by visiting their local library, we are hoping to beat the Worcestershire record for children completing the challenge and to see which of our schools achieves the highest percentage of pupils through to the end.
There are many activities taking place in individual libraries - http://www.worcestershire.gov.uk/info/20017/libraries/1058/local_library_details
We also invite all family members where the children are reading to Croome Court with free entry on 2 fun packed days -http://www.worcestershire.gov.uk/info/20017/libraries/1048/national_library_schemes/3
So to avoid the dip in reading during the holidays, point your pupils to their local libraries and compare your holiday reading to theirs in September.
