Curriculum Overview

Welcome to Summer Term 2!

Get ready for an exciting second half of the summer term, as Reception dives into the tiny world of minibeasts! We'll be exploring everything from wiggly worms to fluttering butterflies.

What we'll be learning:

  • Identifying different minibeasts: Ladybirds, snails, spiders, bees, and more!
  • Where they live: Discovering their habitats in our school grounds.
  • What they eat and how they move: Understanding their unique behaviors.
  • Why they're important: Learning about the big jobs these tiny creatures do for our planet.

Throughout the term, we'll be encouraging the Hedgehogs to ask questions and be curious about the world around them, develop their communication and collaboration skills, use their imaginations and be creative, and build their confidence and independence.

We are looking forward to a fun and engaging half-term filled with exciting adventures! Keep an eye on this page for updates and photos of our learning journey.
