Curriculum Statement for PE

Our curriculum statement outlines our intent for the subject, our implementation of the subject and the desired impact our curriculum will have on the leadership and teaching of the subject and on our pupils and their learning.

Progression and Skills

At Wolverley we plan our curriculum across four main milestones: Early Years, KS1, Lower KS2 and Upper KS2. We outline the knowledge, skills, and vocabulary to be taught across each phase. Our curriculum covers Games, Gymnastics, Dance/Movement, Athletics and Swimming.

In addition to this we incorporate 'enrichment' activities into our curriculum which may take place on our school site or at other venues.

These include: Bell boating, specialist coaching from local sports clubs, outdoor and adventurous activities - either based at local schools (orienteering) or on Residential Visits (Malvern Boundless Outdoors, Frank Chapman)

We run a variety of after school clubs which support our PE curriculum, many of them also lead to participation in local events, fixtures  and tournaments.
