Welcome to Hedgehogs with
Miss. Harrold, Mrs.Wilks and Miss.Wilson
Our topic for this Spring term is ‘Reach for the Stars’. Our topic work on Space and planets will fascinate the children with all the facts we can find out about the solar system. We will have a rocket in the classroom so the children can go to the moon everyday! We will be asking questions like; Why do the stars twinkle? Who was the first person to land on the moon? Which galaxy do we live in? How many planets are there in our galaxy? If you have any books at home related to our new topic, then please bring them in!
We will also be using a key text each half term to base our learning around. This first half term we will be reading How to catch a star by Oliver Jeffers and then do a story map around Whatever Next by Jill Murphy.
P.E will be every Thursday morning with Mrs. Churchard. Please make sure PE kits are in school with your child’s name on. Thank you.
This term the children will have a new book to bring home. It is called a tricky word book. Every day we will learn a new tricky word and the children will have the opportunity to practise this in their books at home. The children will also have a new homework book after half term which will have a piece of Maths or English homework every Thursday to bring back to school the following Tuesday.
Forest school will continue on a Tuesday afternoon. Please send children into school wearing old clothes on that day. Please also send in warm clothes like additional fleeces and hats and gloves for the colder months.
