Welcome to our school!
After 38 Years in teaching, the last 15 as a Headteacher, I shall be retiring at the end of August. Mrs Shelley Reeves -Walters has been appointed to take over in September and will be very lucky in leading a super team of staff, delightful children and supportive parents. The school is very popular and oversubscribed but if your child is due to begin school soon you may be lucky enough to obtain a place and take advantage of what we offer.
Amongst the attractions is the sport that we offer, both as part of the curriculum and after school. We now have a playground with proper sports surface suitable for netball, basketball, 5 a side football, hockey, tennis and general games activities. Next to it is an activity course designed by the children to add to our existing Forest School site and a small football pitch. We also have the use of Mill Lane sports field which has changing facilities. Adjacent to the assembly area is a new pond, also designed and made by the children.
The class organisation in September 2011 is Hedgehogs,a Reception class of 15, Squirrels Years 1 and 2 with 28, Woodpeckers, Years 3 and 4 with 31 and Owls with 32 Year 5 and 6 children. If you are looking for your child's first school do have a look at the website and/or arrange to call in for a visit.
Within the school building is based the Sebright Cygnets Nursery. The nursery caters for children from ages 2 to 4 and also provides before school and after school care. For further details contact the manager on 01562 851851.
